Virtue Youth is a new organisation in its infancy planning to empower young people to identify and develop their full potential. Virtue Youth will do this by enhancing the lives of young people by expanding the learning opportunities available to them, pointing the way to a future full of hope and working together to create that future. The heart of our program will be the provision of outdoor pursuits, team building exercises, group work and mentorship programmes which we will provided in a safe, respectful, and celebratory atmosphere by trained staff.
VirtueYouth plans to empower young people to identify and develop their full potential and to own their future through building confidence and independence.
To enhance the lives of inner-city youths through the expansion of learning opportunities available to them and pointing the way to a future full of hope, whilst working with them to create that future.
To support and welcome those young persons who are finding life challenging - either due to personal, emotional or social difficulties - and engage them by providing a safe, sound and supportive environment.
In order to achieve the beginnings of the above, we ask for as much support as possible, so that we may commence in this extremely valid and valued work. Our aspirations are to have a network of club-houses and/or use of facilities across the North-East of England and to gain full charitable status for VirtueYouth.
Donations: If you are interested in making a financial donation to support us in the initial set up costs of VirtueYouth, or perhaps whether you may be interested in offering some of your free time, we would be delighted to hear from you.
From modest beginnings, Liz started as a health care assistant, went onto university and qualified as a psychiatric nurse at Kings College London. She then completed her practitioners training in Neuro-linguistic Programming, completed a further degree at Greenwich University and started a small consultancy business, all whilst working full-time in nursing. Liz continues to offer occasional specialist consultancy lecturing in mental health at various institutions and is presently employed as the Director of Mental Health and Acquired Brain Injury for one of the United Kingdom's leading healthcare providers.
Over the years, Liz has worked extensively in both the Private and NHS sectors. She has always held a passion for nursing and found it to be both fun and challenging. With this regard, the premise for the foundation of VirtueYouth was based on her experience that “prevention is always better than cure”. Recently, Liz has been invited by the World Health Organisation to present her own work at an international conference.
Along the way, Liz has travelled extensively and also lived in other countries, including Australia, Thailand and South Africa.
